When milling belongs in the scope

Milling removes asphalt to a specified depth and helps control the finished elevation. It can improve tie-ins and prepare worn pavement for an overlay, but it does not automatically repair the base.

Put the guidance to work

Specify removal limits, target depth, handling of reclaimed material and inspection of the exposed surface. Include a process for approving deeper repairs if hidden deterioration is found.

Build a site-specific scope

A site assessment should connect visible symptoms with drainage, loading and the underlying structure. Confirm quantities, materials, work windows and acceptance requirements before comparing proposals. General guidance cannot replace project-specific investigation or required engineering.
