Inspect pavement after freeze-thaw cycles

Water entering pavement and supporting materials can contribute to seasonal movement and deterioration. Drainage and crack condition deserve attention before and after winter.

Put the guidance to work

Look for new settlement, open cracks, ponding and loose material. Photograph repeat trouble spots and distinguish temporary seasonal conditions from damage that persists after thaw.

Build a site-specific scope

A site assessment should connect visible symptoms with drainage, loading and the underlying structure. Confirm quantities, materials, work windows and acceptance requirements before comparing proposals. General guidance cannot replace project-specific investigation or required engineering.
